Rental Terms

Last updated July 26, 2026

These terms apply when you book a paddle board kit from PNW Paddle Rentals. Booking a rental means you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book — (360) 389-3611 or info@northwestpaddlerentals.com.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel any time before your rental starts for a full refund. No fee, no questions, no cut-off window. Contact us and we will refund the full amount to your original payment method; refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

This is deliberate. Paddling depends on weather, and we would rather you cancel than get on the water on a bad day. If the weather looks wrong, cancel and rebook.

Once a rental has started we cannot refund unused time. If we have to cancel your booking for any reason — equipment problem, unsafe conditions, anything on our end — you get a full refund.

Your booking

  • Bookings run May 1 through September 30, with pickup and return between 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
  • Same-day bookings must start at least 60 minutes ahead so the kit is ready.
  • Online orders are capped at 6 kits. For a larger group, get in touch and we will sort it out directly.
  • You must be 18 or older to book. An adult is responsible for the equipment and for everyone using it.

Unlock codes

This is a self-serve rack in Sedro-Woolley. Your confirmation email contains the code for your assigned lockbox, sent up to 24 hours before your rental starts. The code is for your booking only — please do not share it. Codes change between rentals.

Returning your kit

Everything goes back in the same lockbox by the return deadline shown in your confirmation. Return the board, paddle, leash, pump, and life vest if your kit included one. Late returns hold up the next paddler, so if you are running behind, call us.

You are responsible for the equipment while it is in your care. If something is lost or damaged beyond normal wear, we may charge a repair or replacement cost. Tell us about damage rather than putting a damaged board back in the box — it is a safety issue for whoever books next.

Safety and assumption of risk

Paddle boarding carries real risk, including the risk of drowning, injury, and death. You are choosing to paddle unsupervised, at a location you select. There is no guard, guide, or staff member present. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of everyone in your group.

By renting from us, you accept that you are responsible for:

  • Judging whether conditions, and your own ability, make it safe to go out. Do not paddle in weather or water you are not confident in.
  • Wearing a life vest. Adult kits do not include one, so bring your own. Washington law requires a US Coast Guard–approved personal flotation device for each person on a paddle board, and requires children under 13 to wear one. Kid kits include a vest.
  • Using the ankle leash, and checking your equipment before you get on the water.
  • Supervising any minors in your group at all times.
  • Not paddling under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and following all local rules at whichever lake or launch you use.

To the fullest extent allowed by Washington law, PNW Paddle Rentals is not liable for injury, death, or loss of property arising from your use of rented equipment, except where caused by our own failure to maintain it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our business changes. The terms in effect when you book are the ones that apply to that booking. The date at the top of this page shows the last revision.
