What a paddle day from Burlington actually looks like

Burlington is about as convenient as it gets for renting from us. The rack is roughly 12 minutes east on SR-20 — close enough that a full-day rental genuinely means a full day on the water rather than a day of logistics.

The nearest water is Clear Lake, a small quiet lake just south of Sedro-Woolley that is a good first-paddle spot: short shoreline, calm surface, and not much boat traffic. Big Lake is a few minutes further and gives you considerably more room to roam, with a concrete ramp and a boarding float at the public access area.

If you are coming from the Cascade Mall side of town, you will pass the rack before you reach either lake, which makes the ordering easy: grab the board, then pick your water. Nothing about the pickup depends on our hours beyond the 5am–8pm window, because the lockbox is self-serve.

• Clear Lake is the quietest nearby option; Big Lake has the better formal launch
• You pass through Sedro-Woolley on the way to both lakes, so grab the board first

We are not at any of these lakes — the boards live in Sedro-Woolley and the water is your choice. Drive times below are measured from the rack, not from Burlington.

• Clear Lake (5 min from the rack) — Small and quiet, right next door, great for a first paddle.
• Big Lake (10 min from the rack) — Wide, calm water and an easy public launch. The local favorite.
• Lake Samish (25 min from the rack) — Mellow country paddling with a public park on the north shore.
• Lake Whatcom (35 min from the rack) — Big open water up toward Bellingham when you want room to roam.
• Lake Padden (40 min from the rack) — No motorboats, so the water stays glassy.
